Endurance tells you how long the CH-47 can stay in the air on a full fuel load, with a safe reserve built in for planning. With its standard fuel capacity and typical mission settings, the CH-47’s flight time is about two hours and thirty minutes. That figure is the one used in training and planning because it accounts for reserves and realistic operating conditions. Other options don’t match the common planning figure, since 2 hours or 2:15 would be below the standard endurance, and 3 hours would require more fuel than the typical load assumes. Keep in mind that heavier payloads, higher power settings, or adverse conditions can shorten endurance below 2:30, but 2:30 is the standard reference for planning.
